IISc Bangalore

Prof. Manju Bansal has specialized in Molecular biophysics. Currently, she is honorary professor in Molecular Biophysics unit of Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. Her research area includes conformation studies of nucleic acids and computer modelling of DNA-protein interactions.

Title of the talk:

Always explore new avenues in Science: GNR’s advice.



Prof. Pinakpani Chakrabarti
Bose Institute, Kolkata

Prof. Pinakpani Chakrabarti is a J. C. Bose Fellow at the Biochemistry Department of Bose Institute in Kolkata. Prof. Chakrabarti is interested in understanding the structure and folding of proteins and their interactions with other molecules, large and small, and nanoparticles using biophysical techniques (especially, X-ray crystallography), modelling and database analysis.

Title of the talk:

Understanding protein folding at molecular level, guided by some atypical interactions and the Ramachandran plot.


Prof. Rahul Banerjee is a Professor in Crystallography and Molecular Biology Division of Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics, Kolkata. Prof. Banerjee is interested in protein crystallography, conformational analysis of proteins, crystallographic and biophysical studies of protein-drug interactions, plant memory, learning and intelligence, and philosophical studies in consciousness.

Title of the talk:

Redesigning the Hydrophobic Core of Cyclophilin: An Experimental Test of the Jigsaw Puzzle Model of Protein Folding.



Prof. Chaitali Mukhopadhyay
Calcutta University, Kolkata

Prof. Chaitali Mukhopadhyay is a Professor in the Chemistry Department of Calcutta University, Kolkata. Her areas of specialization includes chemical and biochemical recognition, molecular modeling and molecular dynamics simulation of large system, and two-dimensional NMR spectroscopy.
